A bit further south of Umeå in Sweden, lies Höga Kusten. Just like the Kvarken archipelago, this place is also named a world heritage area by UNESCO. The land uprise since the ice age is obvious here as well.
While the two areas are geographically located quite close to each other, their nature differ significantly from one another. Cruising the 150 kilometers from Vasa to Höga Kusten, you will experience shallow rocky waters of Kvarken, as well as deep waters with high and steep islands in the Höga Kusten area.
Both equally charming and both worth experiencing!
